Courses and Providers (CandP): View Screen Shot

Navigation: Main Menu --> Data Entry (Tab) --> Courses & Providers

Use this facility to define Courses, possibly more than one Provider per course and the Competencies a person attains on completing the course. Note: Deletion will not be allowed if the CandP has been referenced elsewhere in this system.

The defined courses can then be scheduled using Course Schedules, adding attendees from the personnel records. Those attendees will attain the competencies you define as associated with the scheduled course.

Graphic and its Description Usage

The Find facility searches 'Course Code' and 'Description' for the CandP you want.

NOTE:

  • Providers and Competencies are NOT searched with this finder.

  • Use this finder as explained in the yellow on green text.

  • Refer to Wildcards for their usage.

  • A similar finder is fully explained here.

  • Use the Datasheet button to overview search results, select the appropriate one then switch back to form view.

Courses are very simply defined with a code and description.

  • This is the definition of the 'Course'.
  • Course Codes are limited to 5 characters.

 

Provider Tab: (see the screen shot)

Define who gives the course on this screen.

  • Multiple providers per course are allowed.

  • The basics of data entry for a provider include their Code (minimum required), company name, contact, address, telephone and mail.

Provider Definition features to note:

  • You must enter a Provider Code.

  • The 'Internal' tick box indicates an Amcor provider or otherwise.

  • Suburbs may be selected from a list. The post code is then auto-entered.

Competencies Tab:

Select all competencies associated with the current course.

The implication is that when an attendee completes the course they have attained these competencies.

  • Select competencies from the combo list.
  • On course completion these competencies will be entered against the personnel attending the course.
