Record | One row in a table of data. A series of data all pertaining to one entity as intended by the table's definition. | In a table of people and their addresses, one record contains all the name and address information for one person. |

Tabbed Dialog Box | A simulation of the old, manual card system where sections of related data are stacked one on top of/behind the other. Each Tab displays a different sub collection of data for the current record. | |

Wildcard |
Commonly used when specifying find conditions in a 'finder' box. One of either * or ? used to represent: * - Any number of characters. ? - A single character position. |
*eved* :- this column in selected records must contain 'eved' somewhere in the text. *eved :- the data must finish with 'eved'. *eved?? :- the data can have any number of characters before 'eved' and MUST have 2 characters after 'eved'. |
